My Review
I loved the web that was “woven” in ‘Tapestry of Lies’, the 2nd book in A Weaving Mystery Series by Carol Ann Martin. Main sleuth Della Wright is all settled into her new weaving shop, with her best friend Jenny sharing part of the space to operate a tea room. Luck strikes fast when a celebrity designer, Bunny Boyd, commissions her for a large weaving order. It’ll be no issue with the new giant loom she bought from Margaret, the woman now renting her second apartment space. But things start to unravel when Jenny’s rival, the local coffee shop owner is found dead – by Olivia.
Wow! This second book really packed a punch and had a lot of character introductions and social webs worked in. This was a great read because the mystery was robust and the suspect list was long. Untangling all of the information was fun every step of the way because it was so full of intrigue. We had politics, family drama, business rivalry, marital affairs, love interests, and more! If you’re looking for a lot of social interaction then this is definitely a cozy you want to read. And if you’re interested in the business aspect that accompanies so many cozies – well – you have a little of that too. I will definitely be reading the 3rd and 4th book. Sadly this series only has 4 books total and I’m sad it will be ending.
